Effects of Straw Maize on the Bacterial Community and Carbon Stability at Different Soil Depths

In order to test the short-term effects of straw amendment on soil organic C (SOC) stabilization, SOC protection mechanisms, and bacterial community, we examined which taxonomic groups were associated with protected fractions via different depths. We conducted a 5-year field experiment including total four treatments: S0 (no amendment), S1 (0–20 cm straw-amended soil), S2 (0–40 soil) S3 (0–60 soil). The core method was used for sampling, 180 samples collected. Our results showed that significantly increased bulk content, enhanced constituents physically separated their OC contents, changed community composition at more accelerated in macroaggregate-derived unprotected microaggregate-derived depths 0–20 cm.
